The School of Todays.

If counting the steps to the top of a tree house can count for math, and shoveling through a barn of corn can count for work, than certainly-- pretending to operate a tractor qualifies as engineering; high-pitched screaming all the way across a zip-line credits music.

If reading a book took us across the world for geography, than completing a puzzle of the presidents’ heads can cover a lesson in history. If using the imagination evokes learning, than we’ve filled our minds today.

In seeing the canvas of fall, feeling it nip at my fingers I was shown an artistic God. In a conversation about God with my children, I studied theology. In hearing small lips speak His word, I witnessed discipling. In sharing joys of His goodness, I heard praise. If sunshine over snow-capped mountains showed me a glimpse of His majesty, if the smell of fresh cut hay and bonfires showed me His comfort, than it is in the everyday moments I learn best of all.

How did you learn today?

Proverbs 8:17 I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me.

“James Mays says “The creation and the creatures praise in their very being and doing, by existing and filling their assigned place.”  The sun by shining praises God.  The winds by blowing praise God.  Mountains and hills praise God just by being there.”- Chuck Summers

Psalm 148

 1 Praise the LORD.
   Praise the LORD from the heavens;
   praise him in the heights above.
2 Praise him, all his angels;
   praise him, all his heavenly hosts.
3 Praise him, sun and moon;
   praise him, all you shining stars.
4 Praise him, you highest heavens
   and you waters above the skies.

 5 Let them praise the name of the LORD,
   for at his command they were created,
6 and he established them for ever and ever—
   he issued a decree that will never pass away.

 7 Praise the LORD from the earth,
   you great sea creatures and all ocean depths,
8 lightning and hail, snow and clouds,
   stormy winds that do his bidding,
9 you mountains and all hills,
   fruit trees and all cedars,
10 wild animals and all cattle,
   small creatures and flying birds,
11 kings of the earth and all nations,
   you princes and all rulers on earth,
12 young men and women,
   old men and children.

 13 Let them praise the name of the LORD,
   for his name alone is exalted;
   his splendor is above the earth and the heavens.
14 And he has raised up for his people a horn,
   the praise of all his faithful servants,
   of
Israel, the people close to his heart.
   Praise the LORD.
