Always a Bride, Never a Bridesmaid.

Our hearts were created to love and be loved. But the pain of abandonment and unfaithfulness are known. It is all around us. Hearts beat in fear, and children's eyes are wide with grief.

Hebrews 3:1-2 Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus, who was faithful

And here it is, our hearts are spoken for by One who is perfectly faithful—the only One.
2 Timothy 2:13 If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.

Faithful, from the Greek word pis-tos'; objectively trustworthy; subjectively trustful: - believing. Faithless: not trusting, not believing, lack of faith. It’s easy to be faithless in this world. So we cannot look to this world, we look to Him.

And then I wonder—how do I define faithful? Would pass my own test-- Am I faithful to Him? Am I devoted? Do I trust Him everyday, or does my heart commit adultery? Do I worship other idols? My children? My ambitions? Am I selective to the times I will trust His words, trust His plans?
Trust His love?

Am I faithful to Him?

Lord, may I wear a band of faithfulness to You, a covenant unbroken by me. May I not be the one who walks away, but be the bride—at Your side unparted by death. May I never take my children from You— no visitation rights between us. May I each day know You more, love You deeper, submit to You, believe in You. May my faith not waiver. May Your faithfulness be my stay.

Lord, thank you for loving me always. Thank you for keeping my heart, for being always faithful. My love sonnet today, realizing that You wear a wedding band the bears my name. You not only stood at the altar with me, You died upon it.

Psalm 36:5
Your mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens;Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.

 Psalm 92:1-2  It is good to give thanks to the LORD,
         And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High;
 2 To declare Your lovingkindness in the morning,
         And Your faithfulness every night,

Together in Grace,
Amy
